Where the Dead Grass Grows

It's terrible to see the damage that has wreaked on our beautiful grass.
We don't water our lawn, as it is over three acres, but we do mourn the brown, crunchy shell that was once luscious sheaths

Outfit:
U.K. Phonebooth Tee (unknown)
Black and white heart skirt (Goodwill)
Black lacy ballet flats (Payless?)

It Was a Quiet Way

Fire and Ice

The heat may be on outside, but the air conditioning keeps it chilly inside. It dropped the temperature to the point that I wore pants and a long-sleeved blouse!

I love this blouse! It's reversible: blue with white polka dots on one side, blue and white stripes on the other.

I love the opportunity to wear these warm types of clothing again. I yearn for colder climes, just as many want warmer. Part of this is the desire to bundle myself up, and the other part is that I burn like wildfire when placed under the sun.

Peeping Me

Browsing The Sartorialist, Facehunter,  and Street Peeper sites make me feel a little discomfited, as though I am a peeping tom. The feeling vanishes very quickly, because I am fascinated by the different ways that people dress themselves.

 Street Peeper

Whether or not the outfit is to my liking, I admire* their gumption. The sites that catalogue these photos are helpful in that aspect, because their completely unbiased view allows one to judge an ensemble for oneself.

*I've noticed that I use "admire" a lot. Actually, perhaps that is a good reflection upon myself.

A Short Message

I really admire all the different ways that shorts are being utilized this summer. With the temperatures soaring past 100 degrees in my little patch of heaven, they are a comfortable and almost obligatory fashion staple.

Chic black and white pairings.

A classic ensemble for any setting.

Surprising color-blocking.

Casual American pride.

"Shorts Ahoy" from always stylish Modcloth.

Hints on fashionable pairings from designers.

My own concoction to cool you down with the oppressive heat.

Enjoy the summer while you can, and keep your spirits high!

New Hair for a New Girl

It's amazing that a pair of scissors snipping away can cut away the old faults with the old hair. I feel like a new girl, a less blue girl, and one who can really be confident.

This is certainly my most favorite hair cut. Of course, I've really only had three so far: long hair with side-swept bangs, long hair with blunt-cut bangs, and now this. Quite a change! I've been told that it's reminiscent of Audrey Hepburn, Mia Farrow, Julie Andrews, and, a wonderful compliment, Rebecca the Clothes Horse, a blogger I read on a regular basis.

Unfortunately, this is the only photo of me with my new 'do; an update for one of my friends. I'm battling dead-camera-battery syndrome, and so outfit posts must wait. However, I do like this outfit anyways.

Outfit:
Goodwill blouse, polka dotted
Goodwill skirt, false denim (barely pictured)

A Continuously Blossoming Rose

Along with this blog, I happen to have an account with Tumblr that I mainly use for communication and, in this case, research.

I was hopping around blogs when suddenly a beautiful dress caught my eye. I checked it out, and the designers name is Alexander Terekhov, a Russian designer previously on Style.com's "Ten Most Talented To Watch List."

Obviously, I missed the memo back in 2007, because he has blossomed into a fabulous designer. I would wear every single piece in his Fall/Winter 2012 Collection.

More to come!

About Me

I am a teenage, upstart blogger. I'm pretty obsessed with fashion - well, more so clothing. I love to mess around in my closet and come up with new ideas.
They say that people choose clothing as a way to identify themselves. I would say that they are dead wrong with me. It's the thrill of putting on a perfectly put-together outfit, pairing the items to find something beautiful. And, with my knack for finding the ONE (a noun which can apply to any piece of clothing that catches my fancy) at Goodwill, it is a low-cost method of keeping myself entertained.
I'm also an aspiring writer. I want to travel the world, writing, teaching languages, and wearing fantastic outfits along the way. I'm constantly reading, and desperately attempting to speak Spanish to those who will trudge through the dizzying mess of mistaken phrases.
I often wondered how shallow I must be to keep myself happy with clothes. But then I realised that it isn't the clothes: it's the composition. Just as if it were writing or painting or speaking, it's the formation that really shows who you are.
